Romford YMCA currently has two Boccia (Wheelchair/disabled bowls) teams competing in the National Pan Disability Games.

The two teams, Romford YMCA Reds and Romford YMCA Blues, are just about to complete their local league matches.

So far the Reds have won all their games and the Blues have won all but two of their games, having been beaten by the Reds.

The teams recently travelled to Ipswich to play Ipswich JAX and both teams did very well.

It was a very long day, starting at 7am to travel to Ipswich and to complete all the games in time.

Recently Romford YMCA hosted another match with the Thomas Wolsey Special School from Ipswich, again the teams played very well, especially as these were much harder games, as the competition gets tougher towards the finals.

All our scores have been submitted to CP Sport ( the organising body) and we should have at least one of out teams through to the Regional Finals, which are to be held in Reading on Saturday 13th June 2009. Following that the Nationals will be held in Nottingham on 12th July 2009. Watch this space for further updates as to how the teams progress.
