Inclusive Fitness Initiative Award (IFI)

We are very pleased to announce that we have been accredited with the IFI (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) Award.

The Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) is a programme supporting the fitness industry to become more inclusive, catering for the needs of disabled and non-disabled people, raising physical activity participation levels.

The staff here have worked very hard over the past two years to gain this accreditation, adapting some of our facilities, and improving them for members with special needs.

Romford YMCA is the first centre in the Borough to achieve this award, and one of only 17 centres in London to be accredited, so a great achievement

The new Mayor of Havering, Cllr. John Clark visited us to unveil the plaque and congratulate us on our achievement (link to photos)
