In the Pink!!

On Saturday 28th Octoberas part of the national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, here at Romford YMCA we ran a Breast Cancer Awareness Fitness morning. The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Wendy Brice Thompson very kindly opened the event for us, (but declined our invitation to take part in a circuit class!!!) We ran all of our normal classes with many of our members dressing in pink and making a donation for the privilege! (Check out our Studio Manager Roy Nixon in his natty headband!!)
in addition, we ran an Urban Funk class (fitness/street dance) with the Uk’s no one Urban Funk presenter Chris Roberts, sadly Chris lost his own Mother to the disease and so was keen to be involved and gave his time for free. In all we had a great fun (albeit incredibly energetic) morning raising £185.00 for a cause that is now sadly very close to many of our hearts.

Our sincere thanks go out to everyone who was involved.
