The Annual Abseil event took place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September.
On Saturday 82 intrepid abseilers launched themselves from the roof of our 10 storey hostel followed by a further 95 abseilers on Sunday. The youngest was just 12 years of age and the oldest 75 year old Ron Thomas raising money for the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund. The abseil is run as a joint event with Havering East Rotary Club with each participant raising money for the Charity of their own choice.
Next years event will take place on 16th & 17th September 2006 and run as usual by our Director of Client Services Paul Morton-Kemp.

Completed the abseil on Sunday morning, with a few colleagues. Managed to raise over £400 for First Step. Really enjoyed it, and the organisers were very friendly and helpful. I will be back next year.

Hello all at Romford YMCA, warm greetings from Senegal "The Land of Teranga".
Congratulations on your 100th Anniversary Celebrations. I have been so lucky to be part of Romford YMCA Community during my stay as an International Volunteer for 18 months. The Staff, the residents, the after school care kids and their parents, the facilities users and everyone else who is part of the community have touched and changed my life for good. It was a rewarding experience indeed!! It's important to emphasize the great work that Romford YMCA has been and still doing for the whole community regardless of gender, race, physical ability, ethnic group etc.
Thank you to you all for your support and consideration while in Romford, you are "UNIQUE" and Beautiful Human Being.
